Appointment of City Municipal Court Judge

Applications for the City Municipal Court Judge position are open until October 1. The City Council will appoint a new judge at their October 15 Business Meeting. In the November 2024 election, voters will have the opportunity to decide on a proposed amendment to the City Charter. If approved, this amendment would shift the Municipal Judge role from an elected position to one appointed by the Mayor and City Council. Should the position remain elected, the next election for the Municipal Judge will be held in November 2025.
